The RJC’s Code of Practices provides a clear set of standards, which form a framework for companies to address sustainability best practices and align with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The Watches of Switzerland Group has been an active member of the RJC since 2011, showing its ongoing commitment to observe the responsible ethical, human rights, social and environmental values set out in the RJC Code of Practices.
Prior to the audit and following a robust Self-Assessment Exercise, Watches of Switzerland took additional steps in both the US and UK markets to bolster its credentials for re-certification. This included the recent appointment of UL LLC as its supplier due diligence partner.
"I am delighted that we have achieved re-certification with the Responsible Jewellery Council and am proud that we have successfully maintained our ongoing commitment to being a responsible luxury retailer. We have been an active member of the RJC since 2011 and continue to encourage our suppliers and partners to also join the Council. Moving forward, we will continue striving to enhance sustainability best practices in collaboration with our supply chain and working closely with the Responsible Jewellery Council."
Iris Van Der Veken, Executive Director of the Responsible Jewellery Council, commented: “Recertification represents an important milestone in Watches of Switzerland’s sustainability journey. Our Code of Practices is based on a roadmap of continuous improvement in partnership with all the stakeholders in the value chain, and we are grateful for Watches of Switzerland’s leadership and commitment to the RJC. The efforts towards achieving certification support the ambitious agenda of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.”
The RJC is an international non-profit standards and certification organisation, which brings together businesses across the industry that are committed to adhering to responsible business practices.
