The Watches of Switzerland flagship boutique in SoHo, New York recently hosted an exclusive Hodinkee Gathering, spotlighting Porsche Design watches.
The event brought together actor Orlando Bloom, Ferdi Porsche and Hodinkee founder Ben Clymer to explore the deep connection between Porsche's automotive excellence and horological innovation.
Watches of Switzerland Deputy CEO David Hurley and Porsche Lifestyle Group CEO Stefan Buescher opened the event with an announcement of a new ongoing partnership around the retailer's and watchmaker's shared values of precision, perfection, watch aesthetics and craftsmanship.
Sharing those same values, Orlando Bloom spoke about treating himself to a 1973 Porsche 911 after he felt that he "made it" in the film world, and how his initial admiration of Porsche vehicles only deepened after discovering Porsche Design.
The evening culminated in the unveiling of the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 - 1975 Limited Edition, a tribute to the brand's pioneering spirit and craftsmanship.
